After weeks of casting announcements, we finally have our first look at the R-rated Baywatch movie. Instead of slo-mo running, sun-kissed beach babes, we have some pretty chiseled, though equally tan studs — Dwayne Johnson as Mitch Buchannon and Zac Efron as Matt Brody.

Johnson released the pic of the two co-stars on his Instagram page as production begins with director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) and a cast that includes Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), Ilfenesh Hadera (Billions), model Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra (Quantico) and Jon Bass (Jane Wants a Boyfriend). According to the caption, Johnson and Efron filmed a scene in which Mitch gives Matt “the all important beach speech about what it means to have manly ‘Alpha balls.’” He teased that this moment has some “brilliant” improvised responses from Efron, so hopefully there will be some deleted scenes for the eventual home release.

This first look follows another release on Johnson’s Instagram from yesterday featuring the cast during a table read. “This squad has been working extremely hard for months for these roles - the time has come - we start shooting TOMORROW,” he wrote. “Let's roll and bring the world some beach fun.”

The film centers on a by-the-books lifeguard (Johnson) who must team up with a young hothead (Efron) in order to stop an oil tycoon from destroying their beach. Rohrbach plays C.J. Parker (Pamela Anderson’s old role), Daddario plays Summer (previously played by Nicole Eggert), and Hadera plays Mitch’s love interest. Chopra’s role, though unspecified, was made official in a video from Johnson, who teased the film’s hard-R rating with a “this is my beach bitch” brand of humor.

Be sure to bring the baby oil when Baywatch is released in theaters on May 19th, 2017.
