Netflix has released the final Beasts of No Nation trailer. The story, based on the book by Uzodinma Iweala, follows Agu (Abraham Attah), who becomes a child soldier working for rebel forces led by the charismatic Commandant (Idris Elba). I saw the film at TIFF, and it was absolutely gut wrenching, as it should be given the subject matter.

I’m glad Netflix invested in the project, but it’s a tough sell, especially for a home audience. This trailer tries to find some lightness in a dark film to let people know that it won’t be a constant parade of misery, and while the movie isn’t sadistic, it’s brutally honest. You’ll have to psych yourself up a bit for this one, but I promise you that it’s worth the experience.
