Last week word surfaced that filming on the Justice League sequel was being pushed back to make room for The Batman. While no official statement has been released, Ben Affleck is still business as usual for all things Batman. Speaking at a recent Variety screening of his latest directorial effort Live by Night, Affleck offered a positive update on the status of his standalone movie saying that everything is on track and they are finishing the script. He also added that he wants to make sure they have the right story and idea in order to make the movie.

As was reported back in May of 2015, The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone will be helming an X-Men spin-off movie with New Mutants. Boone recently sat down with Creative Screenwriting to talk a bit about the comics he’ll be using for inspiration on the movie that will feature the mutants Wolfsbane, Magik, Sunspot, Danielle Moonstar, Mirage, and Cannonball. He said they loved Bill Sienkiewicz's run and how dark those stories were.

Miller, the movie is set to hit theatres next year on January 6th.
