The Wrap confirms that Whishaw will indeed play author Herman Melville in Howard’s Moby Dick-inspired In the Heart of the Sea, adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick’s novel. The story follows “follows the Essex, a whaling ship that was attacked by a giant sperm whale and sank in 1820, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days.” Ikhile is also confirmed as “a sailor named Peterson.” Chris Hemsworth, Ben Walker, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Holland, Frank Dillane and Sam Keeley also star. Production is set to begin this fall in London.
According to the press release, production on the indie drama Little Accidents has begun in West Virginia. The story “follows the disappearance of JT, a 14 year-old boy in an American coal town which has already seen its share of tragedy after a mining accident. JT’s disappearance draws together three local residents from very different walks of life. Together they struggle to navigate the web of secrets surrounding the boy’s death, unaware of how connected they truly are.” The first feature for writer-director Colangelo, the full-length film builds off of themes from her award-winning 2010 short by the same title.
Finally, The Wrap reports that Cuoco is in talks to join the untitled comedy that sees Hart as “Jimmy, who provides best man services for socially-challenged grooms that have no close friends willing to stand by them on their wedding day. Gad will play Doug, a groom-to-be who fabricates not just his best man, but his nine groomsmen as well. Together they must carry out a charade that is designed to make Doug look his best but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.” Cuoco would play “Gad’s self-centered fiancee who cares more about having the perfect wedding than whether he is actually happy or not.”
