Creating a prequel series to Breaking Bad that centered around Bob Odenkirk’s smooth-talking lawyer seemed quite the risky gamble around this time last year. Seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations later, however, it looks like Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s risk has paid off. Better Call Saul will continue to explore small-potatoes lawyer Jimmy McGill’s (Odenkirk) rise to become the title character, who will eventually go on to aid and abet the infamous Walter White. The series is currently shooting its second season in Albuquerque, NM and is set to debut early next year on AMC.
While we don’t have much in the way of season two’s plot or news of any potential guest stars (don’t expect Bryan Cranston), we do have a pair of new images to share with you. One is a behind-the-scenes shot of Gilligan and Gould, while another seems to be taken from an early shot in season two where McGill is confronted by two heavies/government officials/clients/who knows.
Check out the new images from the second season of Better Call Saul below:
“Better Call Saul,” which tracks small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal lawyer,” is executive produced by Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein and stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, Jonathan Banks, as Mike Erhmantraut, Michael McKean as Chuck McGill, Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin and Michael Mando as Nacho Varga.
Better Call Saul returns for Season 2 on AMC in early 2016.
