Will Forte may not be the only SNL alum heading to the small screen in the near future with a new TV series.  Forte created and stars in The Last Man on Earth, which debuts on Fox during the 2014-15 TV season, and now Deadline reports that Bill Hader is creating a comedy series of his own at HBO.  The immensely talented actor is developing a new show for the premium cable network that he also plans to topline, adding another exciting comedy series to HBO’s eclectic lineup that now includes Silicon Valley, Veep, and Girls.  Hit the jump for more.

Deadline broke the news of Hader’s development deal with HBO, but further details are unknown at this point as it still appears to be in the early stages.  In addition to writing for and starring on SNL for eight seasons—and earning an Emmy nomination in the process—Hader has also consulted on South Park numerous times, contributing as a member of the writers’ staff for the show’s most recent season.

The prospect of Hader creating and starring in his own HBO series is wonderfully exciting, and I can’t wait to see what he puts together.  The actor is currently gearing up to film Judd Apatow’s next film Trainwreck opposite Amy Schumer, and he’ll be seen later this year alongside Kristen Wiig in the excellent dramedy The Skeleton Twins, in which he gives a fantastic dramatic performance.  Hader also has voice roles in the upcoming Pixar films The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out, as well as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s R-rated animated feature Sausage Party.
