We’ve got a few new posters to share this evening.  Briefly:

  • This Is Where I Leave You – A series of rather unfortunate character posters for Shawn Levy’s otherwise promising drama highlight the dynamic ensemble cast, which includes Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, and Adam Driver.  The film opens in theaters on September 12th.
  • Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day – Two posters for Disney’s children’s book adaptation show the before and after of the film’s titular day.  Starring Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner, the pic opens on October 10th.
  • ABCs of Death 2 – The official poster for Magnet’s second anthology collection of horror shorts portrays a rather menacing-looking Death.  The film will be available VOD on October 2nd and hits theaters on October 31st.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide—driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one.

ABC’s OF DEATH 2 is the follow-up to the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning from Nigeria to UK to Brazil and everywhere in between. It features segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. The film is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and at times confrontational, ABC’s OF DEATH 2 is another global celebration of next generation genre filmmaking.
