Sony Pictures Classics has released the first trailer for Woody Allen's new film Blue Jasmine.  The pic stars Cate Blanchett as a New York City housewife who travels to San Francisco to be with her sister (Sally Hawkins) after losing all of her money when her husband (Alec Baldwin) turns out to be a white collar criminal.  Jasmine looks to take on a considerably darker tone that Allen's recent output, but there's still plenty of humor sprinkled throughout - particularly pertaining to Blanchett's socialite clashing with her sister's blue collar friends (played by the likes of Andrew Dice Clay and Bobby Cannavale).  Blanchett looks to be giving an incredibly strong lead performance supported by an unsurprisingly talented ensemble, and I'm definitely enthused by the prospect of Allen once again tackling a character who is in the midst of an emotional crisis.
