Director Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans) is reportedly attached to MGM's Max, a family adventure film that centers on a military service dog and his adoptive family.  Based on a true story, the film tells the tale of the title character, a Belgian Shepherd Malinois military dog who returns from active service in Afghanistan after being traumatized by the death of his handler. "Erratic and dangerous, Max is adopted by the bereaved family and bonds with the Marine’s troubled 14-year old brother. Together they unravel the secret behind his brother’s death and pull a family together again."  It certainly sounds like a feel-good family movie.  Let's hope the American Humane Association takes their duties more seriously on set, especially in light of a scathing indictment of their current practices.  Production on Max is scheduled to begin on March 1, 2014.  (Via Deadline)
