Not only is Richard Linklater’s Boyhood a fantastic film, but it’s also quite the cinematic achievement. Just in case you don’t know, Linklater completed the film over the span of 12 years and did so with the same cast and crew. The movie begins with five-year-old Mason Jr. and sticks with him until he turns 18 with Ellar Coltrane portraying the character all the way through.
Mondo just announced that Boyhood will be Mondo x SteelBook #002. If you’re in Canada, you’ll have two versions to choose from, a standard edition and a hand-numbered variant with a 16-page booklet. Per usual, Mondo is only selling a select number of both copies, 4,000 of the standard edition and 2,000 of the variant to be exact, so you might have to act fast if you want to get your hands on it. Hit the jump for more on the Mondo Boyhood SteelBook.
The Boyhood SteelBook and Boyhood SteelBook variant are both available for pre-order on Futureshop now, but the company only delivers to Canadian addresses, which is a little disappointing for us folks in the states who might want one. However, if you are in a position to pre-order, here’s what you’ll get if you purchase the Boyhood SteelBook or the variant edition via Mondo:
