With filming now underway on the next CW superhero show, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, members of the cast came to New York Comic-Con over the weekend to promote the new DC show, which debuts midseason. While we knew who would be starring on the show and the basic concept – superheroes and villains must band together to save the future – there were still plenty of pressing questions, such as if the tone be closer to The Flash or Arrow, what are the rules of time travel on the show, and what’s the big season-long arc. Thankfully, after participating in a number of group interviews, I can say that Legends of Tomorrow sounds quite different from the other CW superhero shows and any worries about the time travel aspect of the series has been quelled.

I’ll be posting numerous interviews from the show’s cast and crew over the next few days, and first up is Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer / The Atom). During the interview, he talked about the concept of the show, the season-long arc, how his experiences playing Superman helped with this role, if he ever expected to play another superhero, the tone of Legends of Tomorrow compared to The Flash and Arrow, and more. Watch what he had to say below.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow also stars Victor Garber (“The Flash,” “Alias”); Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”); Caity Lotz (“Arrow”); Ciarra Renee (“Pippin”); Franz Drameh (“Edge of Tomorrow”); with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”); and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”).
