The official trailer for the final season of AMC’s Breaking Bad has landed.  If I had one complaint about the end of season four, it would be that it didn’t feature enough of Gus Fring’s enforcer, Mike (Jonathan Banks).  This trailer for season five addresses that oversight right off the bat and I couldn’t be happier.  For fans of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), you’ll be happy to see them get back to work in the last season.  As Walt says, “There’s a market to be filled and currently…no one to fill it.”  Luckily, the “awesome dramatic television show” market will be satisfied when Breaking Bad returns to AMC Sunday July 15th.  Hit the jump to see the new trailer.

Check out the official trailer for the fifth and final season of AMC’s Breaking Bad (via TV.com).  This one isn’t nearly as spoilery as previous trailers have been, but if you’re not caught up on the show, I’d suggest avoiding it just the same:

Excited? You should be! That’s the longest look at season five of Breaking Bad we’ve seen so far.  We’ve had posters, teaser trailers and more teaser trailers (along with fan-made series recap), promo images and even talk of a Breaking Bad movie.   Look for RJ Mitte, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, Bob Odenkirk and the rest of the Breaking Bad cast to return for the first half of the final season, starting July 15th.  Those of you heading to San Diego Comic-Con 2012 will be able to see the stars a couple of days earlier.

  1. You can’t complain about there being not enough Mike in the end of Season 4 after you stop to think about why they decided to have it play out like it did. The beginning of last season was all about moving the pieces into place for an epic season finale. And they left Mike in Mexico because they didn’t want him in the same Room as Gus when Push came to Explosion.

They kept him out of the end of Season 4 because it was the only way to really keep him out of the Morgue and in turn back for Season 5.

    • I can easily complain about there being too much Mike.

This is one of those shows where, if you got into it from the first episode of Season 1 because you really cared about what you saw, you could just as well go and fuck yourself by now, cause it isn’t the same show and there is just no stopping the new characters you never asked for from being shoved down your throat.

      Because they are “badass”.

  2. Never watched Breaking Bad, but AMC showed a character death in a Breaking Bad commercial! That’s f’ed up AMC.

    • There are a number of people wondering that same thing, and as someone who considers himself a huge fan of the show and the show runners I have to ask you why. Since I started the show a few years ago it has always been very clear to me that the point of the show was to tell a story where a Good guy starts at point A and his arc leaves a Bad guy at point B, like a bridge. Everyone involved on the show wants to end it sooner rather then later because the arc is pretty much done. Keeping the show going just to show Walt doing badder and badder things is like building an unneccesary off ramp that would detract from the very deeply considered architecture of the bridge.
There is really no doubt that the adventures of Walt and Jesse could be great for a lot longer than the next 16 episodes, Gilligan and crew are that good. The end is coming though and they are writing to it. The way I see it, a respectful fan wouldn’t want to make so much noise that Sony/AMC start mobilizing against ending the show On Time, because there is no better place to finish after the bridge it seems.

      • Couldn’t have phrased this better and when you think of it, aren’t they classifying this as season 5 and next year it’s season 6? BB will be that rare show where it started on a high (no pun!) and will end on one as well.

  3. Aargh! Why can’t it be July 15 already?
Best show on TV? -Mad Men is about the only thing that truly competes and Justified comes pretty close at times, but right now I say it’s BB. Also, I just got my Season 4 Blu-ray set, and I’m rewatching 3 and 4 in anticipation of the new season.
