I’m so happy that buzz I’m hearing on Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids out of SXSW is positive otherwise this trailer would have me mildly concerned about the film. Judging the film based solely on the new trailer, the humor mostly seems to revolve around Kristen Wiig being a neurotic single woman who drinks a lot. While I’m confident that Wiig has the charm and comic timing to carry a movie, this trailer doesn’t sell me on a film that my peers are celebrating.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Bridesmaids also stars Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy and Jon Hamm. The film opens May 13th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Bridesmaids:
This spring, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Superbad) and director Paul Feig (creator of Freaks and Geeks) invite you to experience Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig leads the cast as Annie, a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she’ll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you’ll go for someone you love.

I had the privilege of seeing an early showing of this movie and was very impressed and entertained. The trailers don’t do it justice. AND!!! They don’t show all the funny parts in the trailer, thank goodness. This movie is full of spunk, heart, hilarity, and plenty of wonderful actors/comedians who are all cast perfectly. They all play off each other so well. The source material may be a little simple, but nonetheless, it should be one of 2011′s best comedies.
Seriously looks rather solid. I’ve enjoyed most of the cast in many other roles, so it looks like the movie will cash in on their talents. “I’m reaaaaddddy tooooo parrrrttyyyy”
This is just like hangover but with girls.
Heya i’m for the primary time here. I found this board and I in finding It really useful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to present something again and aid others like you helped me.
