James Franco is currently at work adapting Greg Sestero’s book, The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside the Room, which is about the making of Tommy Wiseau’s notoriously awful film, The Room. Franco, in addition to directing, stars as Wiseau alongside Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Alison Brie, Zac Efron, Kate Upton, Josh Hutcherson, Ari Graynor, Hannibal Burress, and Jacki Weaver.

And now it looks like another talented actor is coming on board to tell the story behind Wiseau’s trainwreck. Sestero announced on Facebook that Bryan Cranston has come on board to play a role. He didn’t provide any specifics, but I assume it’s a behind-the-scenes player as opposed to one of the hapless actors who found themselves immortalized by a movie that went on to become a cult classic.

Sestero also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Franco-as-Wiseau doing the pet shop scene as well as a new mockup of the poster where you can see the famous actors in place of their less-famous counterparts.

Check out the images below. Although no release date has been announced, I wouldn’t be surprised if The Disaster Artist perhaps finds its way to the festival circuit later this year. Even if it doesn’t, Franco and Cranston will at least be sharing the screen in the comedy Why Him?, which opens November 11th, and could be one of the year’s sleeper hits.
