Marvel synergy will be in full effect when Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters next weekend.  The studio has ramped up its production schedule in Phase Two, and as a result each year (including 2013) will see the release of two Marvel Studios films instead of one.  With Captain America: The Winter Soldier now just six months away from release, Marvel is offering an extended look at the film with 3D showings of Thor 2.  Nearly five minutes of footage from the Captain America sequel will be attached to 3D screenings of Thor: The Dark World, so if the film’s debut trailer left you craving more Cap, you now have the opportunity to curb your appetite.  Hit the jump for more.

The Captain America footage will only be attached to 3D screenings of Thor 2, which feels like a conscious move from Marvel to make people splurge on the 3D ticket prices.  While the studio has done a lot of things right with its series of films, the 3D conversions have all been decidedly subpar; I don't exactly have reason to believe that Thor: The Dark World will be any different.

If you missed any of our recent Thor: The Dark World coverage, be sure to check out Steve’s video interviews with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, and Kevin Feige.  As for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, watch the first trailer here and peruse a gallery of 50 screencaps right here.

Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters on November 8th, while Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4th, 2014.
