First Set Photos from CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson

     April 17, 2013

The first set photos from Captain America: The Winter Soldier have leaked online.  These images are sure to be the just the beginning of the many, many, many set photos that inevitably leak when filming on a blockbuster is underway.  At least these show us the main characters as opposed to something bland like sets that are still under construction.  As we previously reported, the upcoming sequel will not only feature Captain America (Chris Evans) but Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in what sounds like a co-lead role as the two hunt down the mysterious Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

Hit the jump to check out the set photos, and click on the respective links for comments from co-star Anthony Mackie and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.  The film also stars Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. JacksonCaptain America: The Winter Soldier opens on April 4, 2014.

Here’s the synopsis for Captain America: The Winter Soldier:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Good to see that they’ve changed up the suit from The Avengers, appears to be modelled after the Heroic Age costume.

Agree, but want a better look at this one. Too bad they didn’t just stay with one from Cap. movie.

I hope they haven’t regressed on his suit even further. It doesn’t look too promising.

The suit in THE FIRST AVENGER was well done.

Yes, really. His suit from TFA was spot on for the time period and I wish they’d kept his “Avengers” suit more in line with that old one. Hopefully that one was just for their Avengers outing, kinda like how Stark has different Iron Man’s for different occasions.

This might just be a “variation” as someone stated that it was a Heroic Age style. Could be mission related since he is going on black ops style missions, would warrant a darker uniform.

    NICE! can’t wait!
Of all the “phase 2″ marvel movies, I have to say this is the one I’m looking forward to. Guardians of the Galaxy comes in second!:D

  • Cpt. Hindsight

Looks like the Cap version of a S.h.i.e.l.d. uniform.

    • Anthony

yeah maybe it’s a stealth version

  • Darren

I’m glad they’re ditching the connected helmet and going back to the separated one. The First Avenger outfit looked fantastic, and although I liked the suit in The Avengers, I hated the helmet. It looks like they’re going more towards the Heroic Age costume.

Not digging Black Widow’s hair. It was awesome in Avengers.

    • Andre

Agreed. Straightened hair doesn’t fit Scarlett Johansson.

    • Ur mom

She looks like Uma Thurman from “The Avengers” (the movie based on the British TV show).

    • Strong Enough

you guys sound like pussys “oh her hair looks bad.” lol

      • Merle

With straight hair, she looks like a kid playing dress up. With The Avengers style, I see her as a legit spy.
