New Featurette and TV Spot for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Anthony Mackie

Disney has released a new featurette and TV spot for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and about half of it is comprised of new footage.  In the sequel, Captain America (Chris Evans) joins forces with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and the Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to expose a conspiracy, fight off professional assassins, and battle a new enemy, the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).  The movie continues to look good, the buzz is strong (so strong that they’re bringing back directors Joe and Anthony Russo for Captain America 3), and April 4th can’t get here soon enough.

Official synopsis:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

    Marvel’s successfully expanding into other sub genres while DC’s trying to keep Zack Snyder from exploding their entire universe, all at once … D’ oh!

      MoS could have been worse, but I do wish he would have stuck with the ‘Superman likes to save lives’ narrative a bit more closely. Nowadays everyone just wants to see destruction, which is too bad. It comes at a cost, in this case Superman’s character.
