Filming is underway on Joe and Anthony Russo‘s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  The upcoming sequel sees Captain America (Chris Evans) teaming up with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) to track down the nefarious Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).  We saw the first set photos a couple weeks ago, and these new ones show Cap and Black Widow in their civilian outfits, but still on a mission, or at least hopefully on a mission.  I’m not comfortable with the idea of Steve Rogers going around during his downtime and randomly seizing people by their lapels.

Hit the jump to check out the set photos.  The film also stars Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. JacksonCaptain America: The Winter Soldier opens on April 4, 2014.

Here’s the synopsis for Captain America: The Winter Soldier:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

I like how Scarlett Johansson looks so disinterested most of the time.

She might be thinking “that fucking Marvel is killing my career. I’m attached to it for the rest of my life”

      • mrperfect

More likely, “This is the easiest 1 million I ever made! Hope this shit continues the rest of my life!!”

Love how after her “hard” day of shooting she slips into pj bottoms and has her PA make her a fresh latte.

Umm, that’s how the character is, stern and emotionless, until it really matters. If you had seen prior BTS pics, you’d see she isn’t some pretentious diva.

  • REALLY?

So we don’t get any more Hulk movies but we have to sit through another Captain America crapfest? His “oh shucks” attitude is really annoying and teaming him with another less than impressive “hero” like Black Widow does nothing to make the movie any more enticing.

I hate this cynical world … God forbid that we have a character with a solid moral center and who embraces old fashion values. If anything, I think it adds an interesting dynamic to the Marvel films, and especially the Avengers team.

Feeling the same way my friends and me.

You should check out the source material (the comic by Ed Brubaker) if you haven’t already. Even if you don’t like the character (I know I sure didn’t) it’s still a really cool spy-fi thriller type story.

well nobody is forcing you to go see this film, this aint communist china for god sake. if you dont like a movie, don’t go see it. it’s pretty simple logic

I loved the first Cap film. I’m excited for this one too. I am of the camp who loves having a hero who is truly “good” and carries the old qualities of what it should be to be an American.

    • Andy247

Do you know anything about American history? It certainly doesn’t involve being truly “good”.

I’m pretty sure that the man Capt. America is grabbing is Maximiliano Hernandez, or Agent Jasper Sitwell. Same looking guy, and it fits with the cast. He is a decent actor, although (while he is good in it) I wish he wasn’t on The Americans. He could have been in the SHIELD show.

Hey Stan Lee is now holding the mike for marvel movies.

  • Matt

Scarlet is so fragile that she can’t even throw her own kicks?

  • bidi

i want to make fuck with her

  • trance
