CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Will Tie into THOR: RAGNAROK

Captain America: Civil War will definitely be a huge event, but I’m more curious about Thor: Ragnarok since it seems destined to be the Phase Three film that will be the bridge to Avengers: Infinity War. Thor had an entire subplot in Age of Ultron just to explain to everyone what the Infinity Gauntlet was, so I’m assuming Ragnarok will be vital in getting the MCU to its endgame.

And according to actress Jaimie Alexander, Lady Sif will be a vital part of Thor: Ragnarok. Speaking to the L.A. Times for her new TV series Blindspot, Alexander said:

Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things. Because they know I’ll be like, “So here’s what’s gonna happen.” But I do know I will be in “Thor 3″ and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.

Alexander has always been a nice supporting player in these movies, and I like when they give her free reign to kick ass rather than relegate her to Thor’s frustrated platonic pal. If Sif is stepping up in a major way, hopefully it will be in a way the fleshes out her character rather than being a tool for Thor’s motivation.

When asked about how the Infinity Gauntlet was mentioned in Age of Ultron, Alexander also revealed that while Cap 3 might be Earthbound, it’s not forgetting about the Realm Eternal, or at least it’s not dropping all the extraterrestrial stuff:

Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “The Avengers,” “Captain” will have some stuff. There’s just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.

So what’s the link? If Thor is out of the picture, then is there any character in the massive cast who can tie things into Infinity War? Or does someone look in a telescope at some point and say, “Hey, check out this purple guy and his rocket chair!”

Captain America: Civil War opens May 6, 2016.  Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3, 2017.
