Marvel has released a new featurette and character posters for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  The story has Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) teaming up to face off against an assassin known as “The Winter Soldier” (Sebastian Stan).  The featurette focuses on new character Sam Wilson (a.k.a. The Falcon), who can fly around and fire automatic weapons like a badass.  Anthony Mackie, who received high praise from early reactions to the film, plays Falcon, and I look forward to seeing the talented actor get some more recognition.

Hit the jump to check out the featurette and the stylized character posters.  The film also stars Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. JacksonCaptain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Captain America: The Winter Soldier:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

This is Anthony Mackie’s biggest breakout role for sure. He’s gonna be a superstar after this.

slap an eye patch on redford and he looks like the original nick fury from the comics

    • Oliver Queen

I thought of the same thing.

Scarlett’s pose in all of the promotional material and it just looks so ridiculously dumb. I just don’t see what she is going for. Legs kinda overlapping means its not an action pose. Arms hanging down gingerly holding her guns would say bring it on to whoever is in front of her but she’s looking up closing her eyes and basking in the sun as her hair plays in the breeze. Just nothing about it makes sense.

      Are you a man?

I love the way you are criticizing the poster and her pose but is the purpose not obvious.

Exactly, people who keep bragging about how bad it is need to realise that this pose makes her look more beautiful. Besides Cap doesn’t have the most realistic battle pose when he’s got his first in front of him and his shield above his head but it works cause it’s a comic book movie.

        That’s right Ollie.

She’s the Black Widow. Beautiful, but lethal. Someone you don’t want to let your guard down around, but will because you’re a man and you’re stupid. That’s when she beats your ass into the dirt. It’s the perfect pose. Plus it completely evokes the 60s espionage vibe. Very James Bond-ian.

  • James Bond

He goes all the way back to Million Dollar Baby but The Hurt Locker is the movie I fell in love with him for. Very, very talented actor.
