For some reason, Marvel has decided to release the final scene from Captain America: The First Avenger online, along with a trailer for the trailer for The Avengers that plays at the end of the credits. Personally, I think this is a wholly moronic move by Marvel. Why release the final scene from a movie online that’s only been in theaters one week? Plenty of people haven’t had a chance to see it yet, and now literally the final minute of the film is being run all over the internet.

Nevertheless, hit the jump to watch it if you’re so inclined, but if you haven’t seen the movie yet I’d advise you to steer clear of the video. Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johanssen, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. The film opens in 3D on May 4, 2012.

Here’s the scene (via Yahoo!).  You can also check out 10 images from The Avengers here.

Here’s the official synopsis for Captain America:

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige will produce CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. Alan Fine, Stan Lee, David Maisel and Louis D’Esposito will executive produce. The film will be released in the US on July 22, 2011 and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

This is part of the reason why I hated the after credit scene so much. Part of what made the solo avenger heroes after credit scenes so special is that they were an intricate part that eventually lead to the avengers not an entire teaser trailer. That being said I could understand why they decided to release a trailer as it was the final chapter of each avenger origins story. But I am thinking that marvel released the teaser trailer because it was pirated to much. But this does not excuse revealing the ending to cap.

-I don’t really see the outrage: its a scene that really doesn’t spoil anything that happens in the core story of the film, not only one. Plus there’s that whole free-will thing… people don’t HAVE to watch it if they don’t want to be spoiled.

-I was literally just searching youtube to try and find the after-credits scene (since I left when the credits rolled) and the clip they had online was different than this one, it was alot longer for one thing.

why in god’s name would you leave before the credits finished!? I agree with your free will point but that’s just plain nuts

It looks like I have to see ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ and the ‘Cap on the same day. I love Marvel, but I think Cowboys will be the best movie of the summer. I can’t wait for tomorrow!

And they don’t show the entire scene. Those who have seen the film will know what I’m talking about as I just saw the movie yesterday. Plus, for anyone that has not seen it, they will probably be more intrigued by it, as if saying, “How does he get to the future?”

What! Captain America is frozen and thawed out in the present!

    Outrage!

Next you’re going to say Uncle Ben dies or Krypton explodes.

Well, for one, I waited all the way through the credits and the scene and trailer wasn’t there. I’m guessing not all theaters has had the post-credit trailer attached.

The theatre where I saw Captain America for some reason or another (possibly having to do with the Quebec government, which always ensures that its citizens can’t have nice things) didn’t show the aftercredits scene or the trailer. Adding to that frustration is that I couldn’t find a good quality version of the trailer online, or now, it seems, the full trailer.
