These new images from the set of Captain America: The First Avenger don’t quite give you a look at Chris Evans in costume, but they do give you the next best thing: Chris Evans’ stunt double in costume. Keep in mind that the stunt double, and thus the costume, are likely meant to be viewed from a distance. It should look very different on film, as Steve Rogers drives across the countryside on his motorcycle. That said, it holds up to my scrutiny under the harsh light of day pretty well, save for maybe the shoulderpads.

These come from The Daily Mail (via Comic Book Movie). If you squint, you can see the HYDRA logo on the side of Bad Guy #1′s bike.

Now that ive seen the costume, it really needs some work. of course it is still too early to judge too harshly.
Looks like a prototype costume like what they did in the first Spider-man. Hopefully it’ll evolved in the course of the movie.

Ill believe it when i see it. But Im of the mind that Captain America is one of those Comic Book hero that cant really be brought to the big screen.Very hard to make his costume not look well on screen. X men and even the Fantastic four were able to get away with costume changes. Captain America needs to be in red,white and Blue and IMHO is harder to pull off and not look campy and take away from the movie. Ill wait and see but i have my doubts.
At least he’s got the wings.
Firstly all motorcycle jackets need good shoulderpads. Unless you meant that they could have looked cooler or something.

The Bad moto dudes look like a cross between Putties from Power Rangers and Robo cop.
It looks alright; I’m surprised they are going for this WWII secret modern look like you would see in Hellboy or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. If they pull it off that would be great if they don’t…well nice try.
I agree, it’s too modern for WWII but looks pretty cool. I would prefer a more true costume though, than this hipster modern thing.
Interesting. I’m still not giving up hope. Post can do a LOT to improve a movie. I’ll wait until we see something official from the studio, air brush, color corrected and all.

Obviously this isn’t a “hero” version of the costume as it is being worn by a stunt double. I’m sure there is plenty more detail in the one Chris Evan wears in close-ups, his shots, etc.
That suit just looks silly, BUT I’m sure it’ll change over the course of the film.
obviously thats not the “good” suit, its the one they make for the doubles to use, for the fast shots that you can hardly watch with detail.
