We have a few casting notices for you tonight:

  • Justin Bartha will play Stiv Batros, lead singer of the Dead Boys, in CBGB
  • Shannon Woodward is the title character in Claire's Cambodia
  • Kris Polaha, Collette Wolfe, and Justin Castor joined the cast of Atom Egoyan's Devil's Knot

Written and directed by Randall Miller (Bottle Shock), CBGB will tell the story of the legendary club and its role in the birth of punk rock.  Alan Rickman will play club owner Hily Kristal---Ashley Greene will play his daughter.  Bartha is the latest to be cast as one of the rockers, joining Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, Taylor Hawkins as Iggy Pop, and Rupert Grint as Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome.  Johnny Galecki is on board as band manager Terry Ork.  CBGB is set to film in Georgia and New York starting next month.

Mamie Gummer was initially set to play Claire in Claire's Cambodia, but is busy now that The CW picked up her series Emily Owens M.D..  Woodward will take over as the middle sister in the family dramedy.  Mary Kay Place and Sarah Paulson play the other two sisters.  Stacy Sherman will write and direct.

The Devil's Knot is a drama about the West Memphis 3, who were convicted of killing three boys in Arkansas in 1993 despite the absence of physical evidence; they were released in 2011.  Reese Witherspoon is the mother of one of the victims.  Colin Firth co-stars as a private investigator, and Wolfe signed on to play his assistant.  Castor is in talks to play Jason Baldwin, one of the 3.  Polaha is on board as public defender Val Price.  Mireille Enos and Kristopher Higgins also star.
