CBS Developing Time Travel Drama Called MURMURS

CBS is developing a time travel drama called Murmurs from writer Jason Smilovic and producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.  According to THR:

“The project, from CBS Studios, is set in a world where time travel is a reality and centers on the Commission, an agency that detects and corrects alterations in time called murmurs, ensuring that history remains unchanged.”

If this show sounds like Voyagers! from 1982…that’s because it is!  All Murmurs needs is a really smart kid doing all the heavy lifting and someone can sue.  While the project only has a script commitment (meaning it’s a long way from airing), Jason Smilovic has written four pilot scripts and all of them have been made into series (ABC’s Karen Sisco and NBC’s Kidnapped, Bionic Woman, and My Own Worst Enemy).

It’ll be interesting if the show gets off the ground, as NBC aired a great time travel show (Journeyman) a few seasons ago and even with great production values and smart scripts, the show never made it past one season.
