Fresh off the glut of NBC news earlier today, CBS has announced a few series orders.  Briefly:

  • In a surprise to no one, the spinoff NCIS: New Orleans will be moving forward to series.  NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles consistently rank as the most watched shows on network TV next to The Big Bang Theory.
  • Additionally, the Matthew Perry-fronted comedy redo The Odd Couple is a go, as is the multigenerational family comedy The McCarthys from showrunner Bob Daily.
  • Elsewhere the drama side, Kevin Williamson’s psychological thriller Stalker, the Tea Leoni-fronted Secretary of State show Madam Secretary, and Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman’s cyber-themed Scorpion are going to series.  They join the previously announced Battle Creek, from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan.
  • Still no official word on How I Met Your Dad, though a series order is expected.  That said, everyone expected Beverly Hills Cop to go forward last year too.
