Black Panther doesn’t hit theaters until November 3, 2017, but we’re going to meet Chadwick Boseman’s rendition of the character before that.  During an Actors on Actors session, Logan Lerman asked Boseman if there’s a Black Panther director yet to which Boseman replied, “There’s a director on the movies that I’m introduced, but not for Black Panther.”

So when can we expect to see Boseman’s Black Panther on the big screen?  We don’t know for sure, but there are Avengers: Age of Ultron reshoots coming up in January, so perhaps he could be part of that.  Hit the jump for more on what Boseman had to say about Black Panther.

“I’m excited about it too! I’m beyond excited. It’s like to the point where you feel numb and then your mind goes off into, ‘Ok, how do I achieve that?’ But I think the great thing about it is that this actual character is unique in a lot of ways. I can’t think of another character that’s like the leader of a nation and is a superhero at the same time. There are a lot of different ways this story can go, you know, and ways that they can do it, so I’m really just excited about how it fits into the bigger picture of what Marvel is doing.”

And now here’s Boseman’s full reply to Lerman’s director question:

“There’s a director on the movies that I’m introduced, but not for ‘Black Panther. But just being a part of that discussion is huge. You know, you’re reading the comic books and you have ideas about how that’s gonna happen and you can discuss that.”

The most striking thing about Boseman’s response is that he said “the movies that I’m introduced,” not “the movie.”  There’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, but then we’ve got four Phase 3 films coming before Black Panther to work with – Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok.  It’d make sense for Black Panther to pop up in just about any of them, but why introduce Boseman as Black Panther at the Phase 3 announcement if the studio didn’t plan to use him sooner?

What do you think?  When will Boseman make his MCU debut?
