Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen are putting together the cast for their next film, Hail, Caesar!George Clooney has long been attached to star in the Hollywood-set 1950s comedy, which revolves around a “fixer” for the stars, and a couple of weeks ago it was announced that Josh Brolin will be a part of the cast.  Now an incredibly exciting trio of actors has been added to the latest Coen brothers pic, as THR reports that Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, and Ralph Fiennes are in talks to sign on.  The film is said to be filled with characters harkening back to Hollywood’s Golden Age, and indeed these three actors are set to fill some very juicy roles.  Hit the jump for more details on the casting.

channing-tatum-hail-caesarPer THR, Tatum—who is seriously on a roll here as far as his career is concerned—is poised to play a Gene Kelly-type star.  Fiennes will play Laurence Lorenz, a studio director, and Swinton is set to play a “powerful Hollywood gossip columnist.”  It doesn’t get much better than this.  The comedy is set to start filming later this year.

Tatum is coming off the immense success of the comedy sequel 22 Jump Street, and he earned swell reviews for his dramatic turn in Foxcatcher, which opens in theaters this November.  Also on his docket is the Magic Mike sequel and a potential X-Men spinoff as Gambit.  Fiennes, meanwhile, just turned in a fantastic lead performance in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel and is poised to return for the Skyfall follow-up Bond 24.

This will actually mark the second comedy that Swinton films this year, as she also has a role in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck.  She had a supporting role with Fiennes in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and can currently be seen in theaters in the sci-fi drama Snowpiercer.
