District 9 was terrific.  Elysium was disappointing.  So where does director Neill Blomkamp go with his third feature, Chappie?  I still have no idea since the trailers have looked like a cross between Short Circuit and RoboCop, and producer Simon Kinberg claims that the film is "likely the most provocative studio movie you’ll ever see."  I'm willing to give Blomkamp the benefit of the doubt, and that's why I'm excited to see his sci-fi action flick.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 25 admit-two passes to Chappie.  To enter for a chance to win a code that will allow you to download up to 2 admit-one passes, send an e-mail to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “CHAPPIE”.  The screening is on Wednesday, March 4th at 8PM at Regal Atlantic Station, so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable.  Multiple entries from a single person will disqualify all entries from that person.

Chappie opens at 7pm on March 5th, and also stars Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver, and Hugh Jackman.

In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the trailer:

Here's the official synopsis for Chappie:

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.  As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.
