We're the Millers was a sleeper hit this past summer, and I'm surprised there hasn't publicly been any movement on a sequel.  In any event, the film's director, Rawson Marshall Thurber, is lining up a new project by signing on to helm Choose Your Own AdventureWe first reported on the adaptation of the book series last year with 20th Century Fox and producer John Davis hoping to turn Choose Your Own Adventure into a "cross-platform four-quadrant action adventure franchise."  That's clearly not going to be in the R-rated territory of Millers, but the director handled PG-13 comedy incredibly well with 2004's Dodgeball, a film that still holds up ten years later.

Unfortunately, THR also reports that screenwriters Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant will be handling the script.  What's frustrating about the duo is they know how to be funny.  Reno 911! and The State are proof.  But Lennon and Garant really pander to the lowest common denominator in their scripts for the Night at the Museum franchise as well as The Pacifier.  Then again, they also wrote the book How to Make Movies for Fun and Profit, which could also be titled Yeah, We Know Those Movies Suck, but They're Financially Successful, so There.  It's actually a pretty good book.
