At this year’s Comic-Con, I had the chance to sit down with director Chris Gorak for an exclusive interview about Summit’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, The Darkest Hour.  While I could’ve posted the interview a lot sooner, I decided to wait until the studio released the cool looking trailer.  Hopefully you’ve all had a chance to check it out.  What’s important to know is the entire movie was filmed on location in Moscow, was filmed in 3D, and produced by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.

During the interview, Gorak talks about bring at Comic-Con, filming in Moscow, the aliens and what happens to the humans that encounter them, editing, test screenings, and did they decide to explain the alien motivation for attacking Earth or did they go the route of revealing as little as possible.  Hit the jump to watch.  The Darkest Hour opens December 23rd.

I like the trailer looks great. But have they seriously run out of alien concepts? they have to be invisible in the movies now? I’m sure we’ll see them at the end. cool idea.

are you sure it is not Christian Bale on the photo ? ^^

  • i hate the darkest hour

OMFG this movie was so fucking bad, i had to find the writer and director and see all their previous work and i was actually about to contact the writer with a pretty vicious message but decided that was going too far. It is just so goddam bad. It was COMPLETELY predictable, had the worst fucking retarded punchlines and cliches, the acting was complete shit, and if i was Russian i would be completely offended by the portrayal of Russia and all the Russian characters. Honestly it seem like there is a sci-fi/horror movie/alien movie making manual out there that all the shitty directors use to make their cliched and totally predictable movies. The worst part is, in this video this dumbass director said they got good feedback from the screenings!!!!! thats gotta be a total lie. Nobody could possibly like this movie, the only way you would like it is if this was the first movie you ever saw.
