Are you Team Iron Man or Team Captain America when it comes to Marvel’s Civil War, out in theaters next week? You know who doesn’t care about the answer? Chris Hemsworth. He’s just concerned about bulking up those biceps.
Posted on Facebook by Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, a video sees Hemsworth hitting the gym with both two- and one-handed handed pull-ups, while simultaneously plugging Thor: Ragnarok and proving that he won’t drop his trusty Mjolnir. “Where was the invite for me and Hulk? Just leave the two strongest, biggest Avengers out of this one, did yeah?” he asked.
Watch the video below.
The end of Avengers: Age of Ultron saw Thor blasting off back to Asgard to search for more Infinity Stones, which seems like a likely plot point for Ragnarok. Elsewhere, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner went off the grid and away from humanity as a means of atonement for Hulking out on innocent people. The two may not join their other Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, but they’ll unite in the third Thor movie, which is described as a “universal road movie” for the characters.
Indie director Taika Waititi helms Thor: Ragnarok, which also stars Creed’s Tessa Thompson in a key role, Cate Blanchett rumored as Hela, and what looks like the final performance of Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The title is a nod to the apocalypse of Norse mythology and implies a story arc from the comics in which souls from the realm of Hel rise up to mark the end of times.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017. One would assume Thor will pop up in the Russos’ two-part Avengers: Infinity War, which Ruffalo says forms a Hulk standalone story arc when paired with Ragnarok.
