A few days ago Marvel/Paramount released the first image of Chris Hemsworth as Thor. I said everything I wanted to say in the original article, but if you’d like to see the picture in high resolution, hit the jump. Thor gets released May 20, 2011.
Here’s the official Thor synopsis:
The film follows the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

That's his outfit the got him to wear at casting. Directors like to get a glimpse of who portrays the role better aside from the acting department. It won't be the actual representation of what will appear in the movie.

Anyone who gives a damn about The Avengers… To me, you can't have the Avengers without 5 key components… Iron Man/Tony Stark(established), Captain America(established next year), Thor(also next year), Nick Fury sticking his nose in their business(established), and a common enemy… which I'm hoping for Ultron…
As for Thor himself, Thor is more than just the comic book character… Marvel's Thor is tightly based on the Norse mythology… that would be cool in itself…

ok where so we start ok the boots they look military Thor was a god and wore sandals the cape is nice but it seems plastic around the shoulders and they'd have to make it outta plastic i guess to keep it stiff to keep that “commanding image” but then it looks kinda tacky the chest thingy's were golden and they matched his HELMET!! with the wings that's what have him the “godly”appearence and PLEASE PLEASE dont forget to make him bigger then the others as thor is a massive 9' something god from Midgard not a 6 foot swedish banker from manhattan i've been very excited to see this movie please spend the money or i swear ill talk to the local bootlegger and convice him to bootlegg your movie for 3 bucks a pop
