Confirming a rumor we reported almost a month ago, it looks as if Chris Zylka will indeed be making a turn as the All-American bully, Eugene “Flash” Thompson, in Sony’s Spider-Man reboot. For those unfamiliar with the character, “Flash” is notorious for making Peter Parker’s high-school existence all the more difficult (you know, in addition to that whole radioactive spider thing) while simultaneously coining himself one of the web slinger’s biggest fans.
Confirmation of Zylka’s casting comes courtesy of TheWrap. Zylka, who will also appear in an Untitled 3D Shark Thriller from director David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane), joins a cast that already features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Denis Leary. The still untitled reboot, which is being helmed by Marc Webb, began shooting earlier this week and is currently set for a 3D release on July 3rd, 2012.
