Christina Hendricks will be taking on the role of Charlotte Douglas in A Book of Common Prayer, adapted by Joyce McKee and Rachel LeMin. As Variety reported, the story revolves around Charlotte journeying to a fictional country in Central America, imagining that it is the place where she will be reunited with her fugitive daughter. Besides her work as Joan on Mad Men, Hendricks is signed on to star in Ryan Gosling’s writing and directorial debut How to Catch a Monster. Scott was locked down to direct A Book of Common Prayer in January, and Marcia Weiss will produce.
As for The One I Love, Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass will star as a young couple struggling with their marriage, and Danson will play their therapist, as Deadline detailed. All three have had success in both film and television, and could make a very strong comedic trio. McDowell will be teaming up with Justin Lader as writer again, and is most known for his popular Twitter and book Dear Girls Above Me mocking his female neighbors who live above him. Mel Eslyn (Your Sister’s Sister) will produce with Duplass signed on to also executive produce.
