ed-skrein-game-of-thronesFirst up from THR is news that Waltz will star in the love story, Tulip Fever.  The title is drawn from a term used in the 17th century’s Dutch commodities market in which single bulbs of tulips would sell for as much as 10 times the average annual salary of the day.  “The movie details the story of love affair between a man and a woman at a time when Dutch painters were creating paintings that would go on to become dubbed masterpieces.”  Waltz’s role remains undisclosed.

Also starring Dane DeHaan and Alicia VikanderTulip Fever is scheduled to begin pre-production in April of this year.

THR also has Black and Marsden on board The D-Train, which “centers on a Middle American high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes to get the most popular guy from high school — now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) — to show up to their 20-year reunion, including flying to Los Angeles to penetrate the world of celebrities.”  Screenwriter Mike White also stars as Black’s character’s only friend in high school; Nat Faxon is also in negotiations to join.

Finally, Variety reports that Skrein will be the new face of the Transporter franchise.  He’ll star as Frank Martin, a no-nonsense transporter of goods whose one rules is to never ask questions (a rule he often breaks).  Bill Collage and Adam Cooper’s script will reportedly return to the French Riviera and will explore Martin’s character more, including a relationship with his father, a role which has yet to be cast.  Camille Delamarre directs the new Transporter trilogy.
