Weâre about six months away from the fanatically anticipated final act in Christopher Nolanâs trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Have your tickets yet or did you miss out? In the meantime, we have a quick look at Batman (Christian Bale) in his new Batsuit, courtesy of Entertainment Weeklyâs annual forecast issue. Weâve also got some choice quotes from Nolan about his thoughts on the final film and the trilogy overall. Weâll save the somewhat spoilery comments for after the jump, but for now, hereâs what Bale had to say about rising to the demands of Batmanâs adoring public on this last film:
âI can tell you the truth because Iâm done with it: I felt immense pressure. And I think itâs a good pressure, because you owe it to the films â and the peopleâs expectations â to make great work.â
The Dark Knight Rises also stars Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine and opens July 20, 2012. Hit the jump for more.
Via EW, weâve got a few comments from Nolan himself. While theyâre not really spoilers per se (more like confirmations), if you donât want to know anything about the film ahead of time, look away now.
While many fans lamented the lack of a Batcave in The Dark Knight, the final act will feature a return to the lair beneath the rebuilt Wayne Manor. Since the third film takes place eight years after the second, everything should be in good shape (and ready to be destroyed, perhaps).
Speaking of The Dark Knight, Nolan also suggested to fans that they go back and watch it again, specifically the final scene where Batman and Gordon (Oldman) concoct a cover-up, as this provides clues to the finale.
When asked about the confusion over Baneâs (Hardy) voice, Nolan had this to say:
âI think when people see the film, things will come into focus. Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film people will be very entertained by him.â
