Variety reports that SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson will return to the field with parts in both Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2 and Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. Actor Clark Gregg will reprise the role for both films. Coulson becomes yet another thread in the superhero universe Marvel is weaving together for the tapestry that is The Avengers, which would bring characters from Iron Man, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, and other superheroes into a single movie the likes of which fanboys thought they would never see. Other known threads include Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle as Tony Stark/Iron Man and James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine, respectively, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. I’m a big fan of Gregg’s so I’m happy to see that Marvel hasn’t forgotten about him.
For those who don’t know Gregg, he’s a regular player in David Mamet’s films, he wrote, directed, and co-starred in the adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke, a terrific character actor, and he was incredible in his guest role on the first season of The Shield. Become a fan if you aren’t already.

As long as it prevents him from writing another shitty script like WHAT LIES BENEATH, then I'm cool.
And when the hell did Gwyneth get so goddamn hot?
Colin, when they dyed her hair and started covering up her freckles.
Choke was good.
