The enormously ambitious adaptation of Cloud Atlas by writers/directors Lana and Andy Wachowski and Tom Tykwer is getting a very big release when it hits theaters next month.  THR reports that the visually stunning film will be digitally remastered and released in the IMAX format in select North American theaters when it opens on October 26th.  The pic premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to a polarizing yet passionate response, with our own Matt Goldberg giving it a glowing review. The film’s actors—including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Xun Zhou, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess, and Hugh Grant—play multiple roles across different settings and time periods, and if the trailer is any indication this is going to be one hell of a moviegoing experience.  The expansive visuals and epic story seem a perfect fit for IMAX, so this comes as welcome news.  Hit the jump to check out the film's first TV spot. Here’s the official synopsis for Cloud Atlas:

“Cloud Atlas” explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
