So still no trailer, pics of main actors, set visits, anything besides the one pic of the chick and concept art? How do they expect to make the budget back without any sufficient hype leading up to it? October isn’t that far away. Especially seeing how its an out there story and only gonna appeal to a smaller number of viewers. Also enough with calling them the Wachowski Siblings. That sounds sooooo stupid. What’s wrong with The Wachowski’s?

I hate commenting on this site cause half the time it won’t post. I just wrote a long paragraph and it didn’t go through. No watch this will.

Ugh…see! Short version…no trailer, no pics of actors, it needs hype and no marketing so far. October not that far away. Quit calling them Wachowski Siblings. Sounds stupid saying that out loud. What’s wrong with Wachowski’s?

I dont understand the morons on here who wont see a movie if it isn’t “hyped” so in otherwords you want people to make up a bunch of BS and feed propaganda to you so you’ll go see a movie you wouldn’t like anyways?

Why not just figure out if the movie looks good to you then go see it, do you really need 5 months of hearing about a movie to decide its something you want to see? If I saw a trailer for a film 1 week before it released and I liked it I would go see it.

As long as they do market it eventually who cares, and besides worry less about whether they’ll have a good marketing strategy and more about whether the film will actually be good.

What the hell are they doing. October is a terrible date for a movie like. A 3 hour special effects blockbuster for Halloween?! No promotion, trailers, hype, etc. has the WB gone mad?

woww bad signs already lol this is gonna be another huge flop for these guys

  • BrandonHeat07

Bad idea to open internationally in 2013. The way things are nowadays with the internet, spoilers will force people to download the film or something for sure… Nobody’s going to wait +3 months to watch the film. Don’t let it happen and just release it world wide in October/November! C’mon!!

Before The Matrix, nobody knew The Wachowski. After The Matrix, Nobody cares of them.

Speed Racer was a visual torture. Which makes me think that maybe someone did the job for them for The Matrix ?

    • Corin Prendiville

With Speed Racer they were trying to capture the animated feeling of the cartoon while bringing it to live-action. I don’t think they fully succeeded and the movie suffered from some fatal script-flaws, but the cartoon itself was never a very well written series either. If anything they failed in that film because they didn’t make it their own like they did previous works. I don’t think this reflects on their ability to craft good work.

Also they did write V for Vendetta, a fairly successful sci-fi adaptation of a graphic novel.

I am not familiar with the Speed Racer universe Corin, but when I start fast forwarding a movie every 5 min. , it is not a good sign generally.

Let’s talk about the Matrix Sequels. Awful! How can we explain that a wonderful movie like The Matrix could be followed by those two soulless piece of s*t ? Here started my doubts about the Wachowskis.

    I can’t wait for this.

Hopefully the film is awesome enough on it’s own merits to get through with out a ridiculous advertising campaign.

If not, oh well. Campaigns aren’t always going to work, especially with this kind of material – you can spend all that cash but if you’re adapting a property that isn’t completely mainstream, time has shown an audience isn’t just going to show up due to a saturation of trailers and images and story details.

I wish more studios showed some reservation when deciding what we do and don’t see leading up to it.

  • schebobo

I think its ‘Larry’ Wachowski not Lana Wachowski. Plus agree with most of the comments, no hype at all spells disaster for this movie.

    • Booger Sugar

No, he goes by Lana now. I believe he’s getting ready to have a sex change. No joke.

  • Yahzee

The press release refers to them as The Wachowskis. That ‘siblings” BS is onlly a way to make fun of them by Collider… the Matt Goldberg’s virus is spreading fast….
