I'm really looking forward to Cobain: Montage of Heck.  Not only am I a huge Nirvana fan, I think Kurt Cobain was an incredibly important artist that would have gone on to amazing heights (both as a musician and a visual artist) had he not ended his life.  Montage of Heck is also the first fully authorized documentary on Cobain, thus filmmaker Brett Morgen was granted unprecedented access to the artist's vaults.

Morgen, it should be mentioned, also directed the Robert Evans doc The Kid Stays In the Picture, which is easily one of the most entertaining and engaging documentaries I've ever seen.  Check out the full Cobain: Montage of Heck image below.

FIRST LOOK of Brett Morgen’s highly anticipated documentary, COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK. As previously announced, this first ever, fully-authorized doc feature blends Cobain’s personal archive of art, music, written word, and never-before-seen home movies, with animation and revelatory interviews from his family and closest confidantes. Produced by Universal Pictures International Entertainment Content Group and HBO Documentary Films, the film will be released internationally in theatres from Spring and will air exclusively on HBO in the US on May 4th.

COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK will debut internationally at The Berlin International Film Festival in February.  It will be released in the UK in April.
