According to Val Kilmer’s personal Facebook post, he’ll return and reprise his role of Iceman in Top Gun 2:

“I just got offered Top Gun 2 - not often you get to say “ yes” without reading the script…”

In a story that has a lot of people across the web scratching their heads, AMBI Pictures has just purchased the rights to the 400 title archive of Exclusive Media, a library that includes films like Cruel IntentionsDonnie DarkoThe Mexican, Rush… and Memento, and according to the company, they now have immediate plans to produce a Memento remake. In the original Christopher Nolan film, Leonard (played by Guy Pearce) is tracking down the man who raped and murdered his wife. The difficulty, however, of locating his wife's killer is compounded by the fact that he suffers from a rare, untreatable form of memory loss. Although he can recall details of life before his accident, Leonard cannot remember what happened fifteen minutes ago, where he's going, or why. In talking about the remake, AMBI producer Monika Bacardi said the following: “Memento is a masterpiece that leaves audiences guessing not just throughout the film, but long after as well, which is a testament to its daring approach. We intend to stay true to Christopher Nolan’s vision and deliver a memorable movie that is every bit as edgy, iconic and award-worthy as the original. It’s a big responsibility to deliver something that lives up to the mastery of the original, but we are extremely excited and motivated to bring this puzzle back to life and back into the minds of moviegoers.”

According to multiple reports, Academy Award winning actor Matthew McConaughey is in talks to play a major role in the upcoming adaptation of The Dark Tower, based on the book of the same name by Stephen King. However, there are 2 conflicting reports. One report from TheWrap claims McConaughey is being eyed for the role of Roland Deschain, aka “The Gunslinger”, while The Hollywood Reporter claims he’s up for the villainous role of Randall Flagg. As some of you will remember reports came out in 2014 that McConaughey was in discussions to play Randall Flagg for the adaptation of King’s novel The Stand, but that never actually materialized.

Head of Mel’s Studio in Montreal Canada, Michel Trudel, recently gave an interview where he revealed that a new X-Men film, following X-Men: Apocalypse, would be shooting at their studio with Bryan Singer in early 2017. Two other X-MEN films have shot at the Canadian studio in recently years, X-Men: First Class and the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.

The upcoming new film The Huntsman: Winter’s War, a sequel to the 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman, has just released 4 new character posters. 2 of them include the returning Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth as the Evil Queen Ravenna and The Huntsman Eric respectively, and 2 reveal new characters in Jessica Chastain’s Warrior Sara and Emily Blunt’s Ice Queen Freya. The film is described like this: “Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen—including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)—only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love. When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.”

As many of you know, while The Flash is tearing it up on television at the moment, another Flash will soon be appearing on the big screen in the DC Cinematic Universe with actor Ezra Miller playing the part. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly Miller talked about how this Flash will be approached a little differently that the TV version. He said the following: “Well, it’s going to be a movie, I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak…Wow, I just made such a pun, without meaning to….I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero. I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic — or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person.”

What’s that you say? You want at least 5 more Fast and Furious movies? Well then I have good news! In a recent story in Variety it has been revealed that Vin Diesel and company are not only looking at 3 new Fast and Furious movies, but also several spinoff films as well, one of which could be a stand alone movie for Dwayne Johnson’s character Agent Hobbs.

Lewis DesLauriers writes: Like you, I am very excited about John Wick 2. Here's my question. There seems to be a general feeling that Keanu is not a good actor. I am not sure why. He has been in some of the most entertaining movies I have seen. From Bill and Ted to River’s Edge to Point Break to The Matrix and John Wick, he's done a lot of great work. Sure he's had some clunkers but what actor hasn't. Why do you think he is not more highly regarded as an actor? Thanks and keep up the great work.
