A few days ago we told you that a report was making the rounds that the first official trailer for the upcoming Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War would be making its debut with the James Bond film Spectre on November 6th. However, since that time our own Collider.com has confirmed that the trailer will actually drop with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18th.

A short while ago we let you know that Ridley Scott had insisted that his Prometheus sequel, Alien: Paradise Lost, come out before the Neill Blomkamp proposed Alien 5 project which was said to also involve Sigourney Weaver. Since then, Paradise Lost landed a 2017 release date and Scott has announced that more sequels will follow. Now Blomkamp has announce via his twitter account that his Alien 5 project is on hold. He tweeted the following: “Alien is kinda holding/ pending Prometheus 2. So I shall be working on other things... as much as I love the xeno- and Lt ripley”.

There have been rumors and speculation about a possible sequel to the 2003 comedy hit Bad Santa for years, but now we can tell you it is officially happening. Miramax has announced that Billy Bob Thornton is returning to his Bad Santa role that begins shooting shortly and will be in theatres for the holidays 2016.

Academy Award winning actor Matthew McConaughey was offered the role of the main villain in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy 2. However, the trade claims that McConaughey turned the role down and James Gunn and company are still looking for their Antagonist for the sequel.

As most of you know, Star Wars: The Force Awakens isn’t the only film opening on December 18th. The new Amy Poehler / Tina Fey comedy Sisters will bow in on the 18th as well as the next Alvin and the Chipmunks. Speaking of which, the first official trailer for the new Chipmunks movie has dropped online. This time around, after a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City… and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves from losing Dave.

Speaking of new trailers, the first official trailer for the new Sacha Baron Cohen / Mark Strong comedy, The Brothers Grimsby has hit the web. In the new film Strong plays one of the world’s top spys who must go on the run with less than sophisticated long lost brother, played by Cohen.

According to a new report in The Playlist, The Hunger Games and Seabiscuit director Gary Ross has been set to helm an all-female Ocean’s Eleven movie, with Sandra Bullock in the lead. According to the report original director Steven Soderbergh and franchise star George Clooney have been working on the project for over a year and that It's unclear how directly connected this remake/reboot/sequel/spinoff will be to the Soderbergh pictures, but that Clooney’s Danny Ocean may make an appearance.
