It’s Monday which means it’s time for our weekend box office report brought to you by our friends at AMC Theatres. Coming in at #1 is the final installment of The Hunger Games franchise Mockingjay Part 2 which made $101 million dollars, by FAR the lowest opening weekend total for the Hunger Games series. Coming in at #2, the James Bond film Spectre making $14.6 million on its 3rd weekend bringing its worldwide total up to $677 million dollars. In 3rd spot is Charlie Brown’s Peanuts movie making another $12.8 million. In 4th, the new comedy The Night Before making $10.1 on its opening weekend. And rounding out the top 5, Secret In Their Eyes bows in with $6.6 million in its opening weekend.

The upcoming Warner Bros/DC film Wonder Woman has started shooting and will continue principal photography on location in France, Italy and the UK over the next few months. The production released this first official photo from the film. Wonder Woman is currently scheduled to release on June 22nd 2017.

Hollywood’s most open and proficient social media user, Vin Diesel, is at it again. Diesel recently took to his Instagram account to post the following message: “Last night our company had a party to launch our TV division. Mac City is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe. Next Month, DT begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA.”

As many of you know, Academy Award winning writer Akiva Goldsman lead the recent the Transformers writers room with a team of writers to plot out out the upcoming Transformers universe films. Paramount was apparently so happy with the results that they’ve now tapped him to lead writers rooms for both the G.I. Joe franchise and the upcoming Micronauts. Iron Man writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Black Hawk Down writer Ken Nolan will now develop the screenplay for the next Transformers movie based on the notes of the writer’s room, all three of which were a part of.

It’s been announced that Kenneth Branagh will both direct and star in the upcoming feature film version of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. Having concluded a case, detective Hercule Poirot settles into what he expects will be a relaxing journey home aboard the Orient Express. But when an unpopular billionaire is murdered en route, Poirot takes up the case, and everyone on board the famous train is a suspect. Using an avalanche blocking the tracks to his advantage, Poirot gradually realizes that many of the passengers have revenge as a motive, and he begins to home in on the culprit. A celebrated Shakespearean stage actor, Branagh has also directed such films as Thor and the recent live action Cinderella.

One of the biggest questions revolving around the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens is where Luke Skywalker is. Well, actor Mark Hamill took to his twitter last night, not to let us know where Luke is, but at least where he WILL be. Now be warned, while we don’t consider his tweet a spoiler, some of you might and you may want to skip over this. Hamill tweeted the following: “Last shaved on 10/22 after final day of my 2nd #TheFlash (which airs 12/8 #XmasTrix), just in time for Ep VIII-whew!”

Ashlie Manger writes:Hey guys, love the show. I know John and Kristian are big Star Wars fans. Do you think that Disney and Lucasfilm are missing out by NOT releasing the original trilogy in theatres again? It would allow people who haven't seen the original films (or haven't seen them in theatres) get caught up on the story before seeing The Force Awakens. I'm sure Star Wars fans would love to see them again in theatres. What do you think? Thanks!
