With the highly anticipated Batman v Superman now just 6 months away, many questions still linger about the future of a second stand alone Superman movie, or if there will even be one. In a recent interview director Zack Snyder added more confusion to the question when he said the following: “I think in a way ‘Batman v Superman’ is ‘Man of Steel 2’. ‘Justice League’ is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.

As many of you will remember we recently discussed that actresses Emily Blunt had signed on to star in the upcoming feature film adaptation of The Girl On The Train. It was also announced that Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson was also joining the cast. Now it looks like we may have our leading men as both Chris Evans and Jared Leto are being eyed to join the film as well. Girl On The Train is described like this: “Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost. And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?”

In 2 weeks the new Matt Damon film The Martian will hit theatres. Last night 20th Century Fox hosted a screening of the film for press which John and Mark attended.

BUY OR SELL

Lionsgate is already planning a sequel to the new film Sicario which opened in just 6 theatres this past weekend and goes wide later this week. The film made over $400k dollars while playing on just 6 screens, giving it a per screen average of over $66k dollars, the highest such mark for any film this year.

It has been announced that Jordan Peele, one half of the Key & Peele comedy team, will direct the upcoming horror film Get Out for Blumhouse Productions. Peele, who also wrote the script for the film said the following: “People know me for my work in comedy, but now I’ll get to focus on my passion for writing and directing horror films. Like comedy, horror has an ability to provoke thought and further the conversation on real social issues in a very powerful way. ‘Get Out’ takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since ‘Night of the Living Dead’ 47 years ago. It’s long overdue.

Tanner Brown writes: Hey guys love the show. I was just wondering now that the early reviews are in for Fantastic Four and they are overwhelmingly negative, do you think that Deadpool although being rated R will make more money than Fantastic Four will? My money's on yes but I'd love to hear you're thoughts, thanks and keep up the great work.

Griffin Dumeer writes: Dear Collider crew, I am a huge of the show and have been for a long time. My question is simply: WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING A GAME OF THRONES RECAP SHOW!!!!!! I love the show. A LOT of people love the show. I'm sorry, but some of the shows that you are recapping (Agents of Shield) aren't that beloved. Thanks and keep on keepin on!
