While we haven’t seen an official trailer yet for Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, we’ve been teased with several pictures from various sources including Bryan Singer himself. Now it looks like we have an official synopsis which strangely was released with a marketing tie-in with the famous candy M&Ms. One interesting thing that stood out from this description, is who will be leading the team.  In the press release it states:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

It looks like the saga of who will be directing the next Fast & Furious movie has officially ended. We’ve been talking a lot lately about the drama involved with who would be helming Furious 8 and it looks like Vin Diesel and Universal have found their man in Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray. Gray confirmed the decision by posting on Facebook with the image “FF8 April 14, 2017” with this caption:

I could not have asked for better partners than Vin DieselNeal H. Moritz, & the Universal Studios Entertainment family. Together we are excited to bring you the next chapter in the Fast & Furious saga. #‎FastFamily

The first official trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has been released. The movie is based on the parody novel which is a mashup between the famous Jane Austen book and the popular storytelling cannon fodder zombies written by Seth Grahame-Smith.  The is about Elizabeth Bennet played by Lily James and her sisters Lydia, Mary, Jane and Kitty who are young women growing up in 19th century England who not only have to deal with societal pressures of the time but also zombies that invade where they live. The film is being directed by Burr Steers and is scheduled for release on February 5, 2016.

Hey Collider crew.  Just wanted to know, what actors primarily known for television will make the best jump to the big screen?  I personally think Bryan Cranston is due for big screen acting success.  Amazing in Breaking Bad, but I also liked him in Godzilla and am really interested in what he’ll bring to Trumbo.

Hi movie crew, I’ve been watching your show since 2 years ago and I love it everyday more and more… My question is about directors’ transitions from music videos and documentaries to movies, I just saw the first episode of Jared Leto’s new documentary series ‘Beyond the horizon‘, not much people know his work as director but he has been doing music videos and documentaries for his band since years ago and a couple documentaries outside his band in the last couple of years and I was wondering if you think he can make that transition and become a successful movie director? and if his recently success as an actor can help him in some way to get the opportunity to make that transition?… kisses to all of you from Venezuela

Hi, Kristian Harloff mentioned that there are several movies which should have been nominated for best picture at the Oscars but were overlooked for being ‘Genre Films’ during Mailbag in response to a question about Star Wars‘s chances of winning best picture. I was curious as to which films  you think should’ve been nominated (e.g. Lego Movie or The Dark Knight which I know John didn’t think deserved to be nominated- great article btw). Keep up the green and bring on the filthy!!!
