Summit Entertainment has confirmed via press release that it will host panel discussions with exclusive footage for two of its forthcoming releases at Comic-Con this year: the action-comedy Red and the action-thriller/”title of the year” candidate Drive Angry 3D.
- Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, and Mary Louise Parker join director Robert Schwentke and Warren Ellis for the Red panel, scheduled for July 22nd
- The Drive Angry panel is on July 23rd, with stars Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard and director Patrick Lussier in attendance

A couple of weeks ago, we brought you the first teaser trailer for Red, the Warren Ellis DC Comics adaptation which features an ensemble cast with the likes of Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren (who, to my extreme delight, wields multiple guns in the trailer), Morgan Freeman, Mary Louise Parker, and John Malkovich. Based solely upon that trailer, the film looks like a ton of fun and the excellent cast should make for an interesting panel discussion. Red is scheduled for an October 15, 2010 release.
Drive Angry, which Summit describes as a “high-octane, blood-spattered road trip through hell,” is an action-horror flick shot in 3D (if you aren’t already, you should get used to hearing that about future films). The plot centers around “a vengeful father who hunts down the people who brutally killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby.” Nicolas Cage, Billy Burke, and Amber Heard star. Perhaps in memoriam to its director’s 2009 hit, Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D), Drive Angry 3D is currently slated for release on February 11, 2011.
