Comic-Con 2011: Cosplay Picture Roundup

One of the things I love about Comic-Con is how many people dress up.  As you walk through the crowded hallways, you’re guaranteed to see at least a few people in the most amazing costumes.  Some years the level of commitment is astounding, with costumes that look like they took the entire year to put together.  It’s because of the passionate fans that I usually carry my camera everywhere I go.  I love being able to post a huge cosplay image article on Sunday night after the Convention ends.  And this year is no different.

While I only was able to take photos today due to an insane schedule, I was still able to snap about 50 pictures of people in costume.  So if you are a fan of cosplay, or just want to see some great costumes, hit the jump.

Finally, we still have a ton of exclusive interviews and recaps of the many events from this year’s Comic-Con.  Keep checking back for updates.

So which is your favorite costume?  If you have one, leave it in the comments below.

*Note: The woman wearing the Pan Am outfit was there for the new ABC show with the same name and not a fan in vintage clothing.

UPDATE: Bill Graham sent me a bunch of photos he took this weekend.  I’ve added them.  They’re the last 17 images.

Tell me the second to last picture isn’t a dead ringer for Johnny Depp. Dude’s costume was amazing. He even had some of the voice right.

    • James

I’m not completely convinced that that ISN’T Johnny Depp. He’s the splitting image, not just in costume but in facial features.

      • James

I KNOW, RIGHT?!?! I literally had to stare at that for a good couple minutes to make sure it WASN’T him. But holy crap, that’s good. =P

    • Jen

Funny story, that’s actually my friend Ronnie who works professionally as a Johnny Depp stand-in like in his movies and stuff!

6th from the bot. Is that Phoenix…at any rate she is stunning.

    • Bill Graham

That is definitely Phoenix, then to the far right is Zatanna. Dunno about the middle.

    • James

Agreed. That costume for Phoenix is spot on!

  • Brenno

the bloke with the darth maul get-up looks legit too, movie quality!…the princess leia beside him is foxy too

  • CarolHammitt Hammitt

It’s hard to say. This is a rather generic-looking cosplay and is similar in style to many characters found in anime, manga and games.

  • Strong Enough

Bill please tell me you got that chicks number that has the gears of war costume on. a hot chick wearing that sh** cannot be missed F**k that!

  • Grand Simon

Master Chief (standing with the Sucker Punch robot) is also pretty awesome!

  • Jake

The Darth Vader and Boba Fett pimps are genius! But wtf is that terrifying rabbit about? haha

    • Enigmatic

You have to check out Donnie Darko for the rabbit.

      • AAA

        Not even close.

    • Bill Graham

For those that asked, I have no idea what that rabbit is all about. Thing creeped me out walking down 5th street Friday night, but I had to snap some pics and apparently the ladies were digging it too.

As for the chick in the Gears costume, I ran into her while doing my Conan interviews. She was following some guys around and I asked her about the costume. Apparently she drove in from wherever she came from (out of state) with the costume.

And yes, that Jack Sparrow still has me thinking Johnny was out there. He was getting a thousand pictures taken at the Tin Fish. I also wish the War Machine costume would have been a better angle. His costume was definitely impressive.

      • SuperSeanski

That rabbit costume is called Peter Rottontail. You can buy at a couple of different sites for like 400 bucks.

  • jim35

some are pretty good. love the black widow and the dark phoenix, and that guy looks exactly like Johnny Depp

  • john

I think I’ve seen that Johnny Depp guy around Covent Garden, London

  • Jose Kal-El

AMAZING! They all do a great job, specially that LEGO Optimus Prime! LOVE IT!

  • Phil Beta

My god! Did anyone recognized Kick-Ass’s heroes Red Mist and Big Daddy there?

And that Master Chief cos…! Was that really a costume or a big size sculpture?

And that Jack Sparrow. I almost thought Johnny Depp attended Comic-Con this year.

    Very nice costumer this year!!!

    • Phil Beta

      A little help:
Emo Red Robin = Red Mist
Batman with beard = Big Daddy

  • DFT

The scary-looking rabbit reminded me of the Joe Dante segment of Twilight Zone The Movie

  • Cypher

First Captain America and Joker are cuuute. :D

  • The Train!

the first wolverine looks like he sounds like snagglepuss. heavens to mergatroid indeed.

  • James

I also really dig the first Catwoman outfit (the one flashing her claws). Looks amazing, and the guy’s expression behind her is awesome!

  • MC ATTAck

The last one of the Sucker Punch family, the expression on the girl face it´s like “my mom made me do this”, the lady is just to old to nail the Sweet Pea outfit.

Second cap pic is my friend Ed. Of all the cap pics i’ve seen, I think his costume was the best, and his shield is real metal, not plastic
