New Image of Jason Momoa as CONAN

Back in May, we showed you unofficial photos from the set of Marcus Nispel’s Conan.  Today, there’s a new image of star Jason Momoa as the titular barbarian.  Since the image is from the production company’s website, I’m going to say it’s official.  I’m not familiar with the character of Conan so sound off in the comments about whether or not you think Conan looks as he should or if this project should be hacked into tiny pieces.

Hit the jump to check out the image.  The film co-stars Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, and Rose McGowan.  Conan is due out in theaters in 2011.

    Oh the amount of people that said he looked too dark to be Conan, I think he looks about the same colour as Schwarzenegger did in the original films.

    While he could be bigger, there aren't many people as built as Schwarzenegger was at the time.

    I've still got my fingers crossed this will be a decent high fantasy romp.

    He just hasn't got the right “look” for Conan, IMO. He sure as hell isn't big enough.

    He looks more like Tarzan than Conan. Conan in the books is actually darker. He ought to have looked a bit more like the John Busema or Frank Frazzetta drawings of Conan. Schwarzenegger didn't really look like Conan either. It's annoying that people thing he does. I think Dwayne Johnson would have been a good pick for the role. He has the right size, hair color, and skin color.

    Who is Jason Momoa? – the rest of the cast isnt exactly that exciting… not sure how likeable Mr Momao will be – have to wait for the trailer to see if it’s worth it…

      Jason Momoa was in the Stargate Atlantis series..he was pretty awesome..his character was called Ronon Dex …you should youtube him to get an idea of what he might be like…hope that helps :)

    Def must see for me!! I love Jason Momoa. But seems strange to have Rose McGowan playing as Marique in this movie when she’s supposed to be playing Red Sonja (which by the way when is that movie coming out?!?!?!?!)
