A few weeks ago, we reported that Warner Bros. TV was developing Constantine, a series based on the comic Hellblazer.  The comic is about John Constantine, "an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond," and was previously adapted into a 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves, also entitled "Constantine" either because the title "Hellblazer" is too extreme for overly-sensitive ears, or because it sounds too close to "Hellraiser", the horror film featuring Pinhead.

According to Deadline, Neil Marshall (The Descent) will direct the pilot for NBC, which was written by Daniel Cerone from a story by him and David S. Goyer.  Folks who saw his Game of Thrones episode, "Blackwater", know that Marshall can turn a TV-sized budget into something truly cinematic, and I hope he'll be a good fit for Constantine.  Marshall recently directed a couple episodes of the new Starz' pirate series Black Sails and he helmed an episode from the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones.
