As a fan of "Crank", I love this poster for its sequel, "Crank: High Voltage". As a fan of thoughtful marketing, however, I think this teaser is an utter failure. The whole point of a teaser is to get people interested into a new film. You don't have to tell them what's it's about or go into plot details. Just grab their eyes and give them a hint about the new film.

This poster gets your attention, but it only works if 1) You remember the teaser poster for the first movie (but really, who doesn't remember teaser posters); 2) You're already aware of the plot; 3) You already know the title of the new movie. What was their no more vein-space to write out "High Voltage"?

This poster coupled with an e-mail we received about a month ago asking us to take down the exciting R-rated footage tells me that Lionsgate may have no idea what they're doing when it comes to getting people amped about this upcoming flick. Right now, it looks like "Crank: High Voltage" is going to have to survive off the success of its predecessor and the size of its own balls.
